Silo Fluidization Bed
Reliable Mixing. Uniform Discharge. Zero Downtime.
Indpro’s Silo Fluidization Bed is an advanced bulk solids blending and flow-assistance solution designed to ensure consistent blends, and complete discharge of fine powders from flat-bottom and conical silos. Engineered for large-diameter silos, this system eliminates common flow problems such as bridging, rat-holing, and stagnant zones, ensuring uninterrupted material handling.
What is a Silo Fluidization Bed?
A Silo Bottom Fluidization Bed uses controlled low-pressure air to gently fluidize bulk powders throughout the silo and ensure effective discharge from the silo outlet. By converting static material into a fluid-like state, the system enables gravity-assisted, uniform material discharge without mechanical agitation.
At the core of the system is a special porous fluidization media that:
• Allows air to pass uniformly
• Prevents product leakage
• Promotes aeration based blending cycles
• Ensures
even fluidization across the entire silo bottom
Working Principle – How It Operates
Our Air Slide system ensures smooth, controlled, and uniform material flow by using gentle air fluidization at the silo bottom.
| 1. Eliminates Flow Problems: | Prevents bridging, rat-holing, arching, and inconsistent discharge-ensuring reliable material flow every time. |
| 2. Protects Material Integrity: | Gentle aeration minimizes particle breakage, making it ideal for fragile and abrasive powders. |
| 3. Improves Process Efficiency: | Ensures continuous, uniform feeding to downstream equipment like mechanical conveyors, pneumatic systems or to packing machines. |
| 4. Reduces Operating Costs: | Low power consumption, no mechanical wear, and minimal maintenance lower total cost of ownership. |
| 5. Enhances Plant Safety: | No internal rotating or moving components-reducing operational risks and improving operator safety. |
| 6. Maximizes Silo Utilization: | Complete discharge means less residual material, reduced cleaning cycles, and improved batch accuracy. |
| 7. Complete Blend: | Ensures the complete volume of material present inside the silo is activated by the fluidization air enabling homogenous blend. |

Silo Fluidization Bed FAQ's
A Silo Bottom Fluidization Bed is a flow-assist system installed at the bottom of a silo or hopper that uses low-pressure air to fluidize bulk powders, enabling consistent mixing, and complete material discharge without mechanical agitation.
Low-pressure, dry air is introduced through a porous fluidization membrane at the silo bottom. This air gently lifts and activates particles, reducing internal friction and allowing the material to flow freely under gravity.
Yes. Uniform air distribution across the silo bottom eliminates stagnant zones, effectively preventing bridging, rat-holing, arching, and uneven discharge.
Yes. Multiple air inlet ports with control valves allow precise airflow adjustment based on material properties such as particle size, bulk density, and flow behavior.
Yes. Indpro’s Silo Bottom Fluidization Bed can be retrofitted to existing flat-bottom or conical silos, often without major structural modifications.
